Root-X
Kill pipeline roots—restore pipe flow capacity
The patented RootX formula foams on contact with water to reach the top of the pipe where 90% of the roots are. Degreasing agents strip away grime so the RootX herbicide can penetrate the roots, killing them on contact. RootX sticks to the pipe walls, preventing re-growth for up to three years. Dead roots decay over time, restoring pipes to their full capacity.
EPA registration #68464-1
RootX is registered for use in all 50 states as well as Canada, and it’s classified as a General Use product by the Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, RootX carries the signal word CAUTION, the lowest chemical hazard rating according to the ISO 3864-2 standard for hazard severity panels.

How Tree Roots Get Into Sewer Lines
Roots follow moisture. When water vapor escapes through a small crack or a poorly sealed joint in your sewer line, nearby tree and shrub roots grow toward it and work their way inside. Once in the pipe, they spread into hair-like masses that snag grease, paper, and debris until the line clogs completely. Left alone, the growing roots widen their entry point and can eventually break or collapse the pipe.
How We Clear Roots From Your Pipes
We start with a sewer video inspection to see how far the intrusion has gone. Minor root growth can often be cleared with hydro jetting, while heavier masses call for a sewer snake with a root-cutting blade. Once the line is clear, a Root-X treatment kills what is left and keeps roots from returning for up to three years.
